Welcome to the Hawaii Jitterbugs website!

We are a non-profit orginization dedicated to preserving and promoting Lindy Hop & Swing Dancing in Hawaii. Still in beta testing right now please let me know what you think.

Andrew Sutton Workshop (Jun 2)

Andrew Sutton will be visiting us in Honolulu the first week of June, and offering a short (3-class) workshop while he's here. This is a great opportunity to take classes with an internationally known instructor. Andrew has a very innovative approach to his dancing (and teaching!), making this a great chance to expand your own dancing to uncharted territories!

Cost: $30 for entire workshop with pre-registration (must register by Jun 1! cost will be higher at the door)

Beginning Lindy Hop Swing

Come out and learn to dance or brush up on your basics with the Hawai'i Jitterbugs -- our next 6-week beginning swing class starts May 29, 7-8pm. No partner or experience necessary! Series includes FREE admission to the Hawaii Jitterbugs' dance following classes on Thursdays from 8-11pm at Ong King Art Center.

Beginning Blues Class

Kai and Vivian will be teaching a 3-week Beginning Blues Class on Wednesday nights starting Apr 30! No partner (or experience) necessary. Very connection-based, Blues dancing is a great way to improve your partner communication and play with musicality and improvisation. Can be it's own standalone dance, or a great supplement to your Lindy!

Beginner Plus Class

Know a little Lindy, but ready for more? We will be offering a 4-week Beginner Plus class series starting May 1, 7-8pm. Come build your swing repertoire and develop those partner communication skills for the social dance floor! No partner necessary. Prerequisite: HJ Beginning Lindy Hop class series or equivalent (must know the swingout).

Aloha Swing

Every Saturday night at the Aloha Activity Center! 8-11pm, $5 cover, includes FREE half-hour beginner lesson 8-8:30pm.
